I am trying to troubleshoot some connnectivity problems -- specifically fail
ure to authenticate using linked servers -- for my SQL Server 2000 servers.
At the moment I am focusing on testing named pipes.
Knowledge Base article 68941 "INF: Procedure for Testing Named Pipes" says t
hat the SQL Server install should have given me two utilities: MakePipe.exe
and ReadPipe.exe. But I can't find them anywhere on my servers.
Any clues?Never mind. I found it. It's on the install CD, but SQL server 2000 doesn'
t install it by default like the KB article said it did.
