Hi,
When configuring to have a Maintanence Plan remove files older than n
weeks - is that 5-day weeks or 7-day weeks?
Also, is the timing of the file removal based on the timing of the backup or
midnight for the day?
Thanks
Jerry
Hi
7 day week
Backups are removed after the next dump for the specific maintenance plan
has succeeded.
e.g
You configure the plan to remove backups older than 1 day, but you only run
the backup one per week. The backup will remain on disk until the next time
the backup succeeds. In this case, 7 days. If you ran the maintenance plan
job manually after 3 days, it would then remove the backup as the backup
retention period is set to 1 day.
